Eight-year old Diksha is one of four children living near the Children of Hope School. Diksha has a sister and two young brothers. Her mother told us, "I am the only who earns the money to run the family. It is even hard to provide three meals a day to my children."

It was clear, the children did not receive proper daily meals to eat nor clothes to wear. Every day their mother leaves the children and goes to work loading vegetables into cartons. Now Diksha and her siblings are getting an education and one good meal in the afternoon after class.

Diksha's mother is happy we were able to help. Look at the transformation that has occured since Diksha was sponsored.

Ajay and Vijay are brothers. Ajay is 11-years old and Vijay is 9-years old. Their parents belong to a village and they lived in the village until their children grew. Because their father is illiterate, it was impossible for him to get good job in the city. He also felt ashamed to go back to his village again. So he decided to continue to live in the city, and they took a small house to rent.

To run his family, Ajay's father started to work as a laborer with a small salary, and it became very hard for him to give his children three meals per day and to fulfil the basic needs of the family; also it became impossible to admit his children into any school of the city. He started to worry a lot about his children's future and education, because he does not want his children to become like him and what he faces due to a lack of education. These worries led him to become addicted to alcohol and create quarrels in the family.

Often Ajay and Vijay would see Children of Hope School students passing by their house. One day Ajay asked the children which school they were going to. The students told them about Children of Hope School which provides free education to needy children. After hearing about the School, Ajay and Vijay's parents came to the School with their children and requested enrollment for the boys. Their Mother was crying for her children. Now Ajay and Vijay are students in the Children of Hope School. Their parents are very happy about this and became very thankful to God. Their parents now work without worry and live a happier life.

Kuldeep is 12-years old. He has two sisters, Anjali, 9-years old, and Khushi, 7-years old. Kuldeep's father works as a carpenter and his mother work as a laborer. One day we met with Kuldeep's family and his father shared, "I have a daughter, Anjali, who cannot walk normal. Her left leg and left eye have been a problem from birth. I have spent lot's of money on her treatment. But, she has not improved. Although I was working, I could not earn enough money to run the family, and I was addicted to smoking. This addiction led me toward a serious illness, and it has been at least 6 months that my family has gone through a tough time. I could not even admit my children into a school."

One day his neighbour shared with him about the Children of Hope School's free educational system. Kuldeep's father shared with us that, "At first I did not believe about the free education, and so I sent my wife to check whether it's true or not. After confirmation by my wife, I was very surprised to hear about Children of Hope School. I admitted my children into the school. During the last year, my children have been getting the benefits of a free education. I am very thankful to all the school personnel. Kuldeep, Anjali and Khushi are very intelligent in their class."

This is the story of a 10-year old girl from a family of four young Jaipur children. When we opened the Children of Hope School, which is near their house, we used to see them looking out at our school. One day we talked with them, and we came to know that they are siblings, two sisters and two brothers. They do not receive proper daily meals to eat nor clothes to wear.

Every day their mother goes to work loading vegetables into cartons. The father of the children is a gambler. He doesn't care much about his future nor that of his children. We asked the children about their education, and they said, "Our parent (the mother) does not send us to school." Then we had a talk with their mother, and she said, 'I am the only (one) who earns the money to run the family. My husband is gambler. I also want to see my children in school, but I don't have the money to admit them to your school. It is even hard to provide three meals a day to my children."

After listening to her, we took the responsibility of giving her children an education and one good meal in the afternoon after class. The mother is happy we were able to help. We have given Manisha a new backpack, pen, pencil, eraser, a pair of scissors and a slate. You can see how happy she is to get these precious study materials to help her in her future life.

Rajveer has two siblings, Kohinoor and Jwala. "Rajveer is a 9 year old boy. He used to live on the road side with no roof under which to live nor a change of dress nor enough food to eat. To eat, he begged daily for money on the road to buy food.

While begging for money he always saw other children going school, but he can't because his father is a drunkard and his mother is a beggar. They do not care for Rajveer. We took the initiative and talked with him. He shared that he wanted to study. Then we met with his parents. His mother said, "My husband drinks. He doesn't care for the family. It's hard for us to get two meals in a day. How can we send our children to school? We also want our child to be able to go to school and become an officer in the future."

After listening to her we encouraged them with some comforting words and we took the responsibility of Rajveer's education along with fulfilling his other needs like food, clothes and study materials etc. Now he daily comes to Children of Hope School with a smiling face. Thank you all for your financial support. Because of your helping hand, we were able to bring back a smile in Rajveer's life.
