We see a remarkable difference in the students before being sponsored and after, and I'm sure you do too. Thank you for the difference you have made in the lives of these children. We all see the new hope in their eyes and smiles. — Pastor Ravi

Afsana is from a poor Muslim family. Her mother is a house wife and her father goes to work for daily wages. She has four brothers and two sisters. Her 7-year old brother, Sahil, was a rag picker. He used to sell what he found to junk shops and gradually he became greedy for money. Then he started stealing things from the houses of others. I was very disappointed to learn that Sahil started taking alcohol with his friends, his mother told me. The next morning, I went to his small rented house near our school. I met Sahil, Afsana and the other children. There was no bed in their house to sleep in. They just slept on the ground. The last baby girl born was affected with malnutrition and died.
Afsana's family became very upset because of Sahil; he didn't listen and feared no one. I talked with his parents and asked why they don't send Sahil and Afsana to school. They replied to me, "We have no money to send them to school ." Then I told them about our work at Children of Hope School. We assured them that they don't have to pay any money for their children's education. We said, if they will send them to our school, we promise to give them a uniform and a daily meal at school, as we do for every child who comes to our school. Afsana's parents happily agreed to send their two children to school, but Sahil didn't want to attend the school. Every morning he ran from the house. However, we worked hard for Sahil and continued our counseling. We used to catch him and bring to school. We showed him love and taught him with love and care.
Now Sahil neither steals things nor collects rags to sell. Afsana and Sahil are learning to speak properly, to write and read. After seeing the change in Sahil, his parents said to us, "We lost hope that Sahil will study, but now we are very happy to see our children doing well."

Kartik is an 11-year old boy. He has an elder brother who is 19-years old. His Brother dropped his studies because of his family conditions which were not good. Kartik's father is habitually drunk and he is a smoker. Kartik's mother goes to work for daily wages. His father always creates a quarrel over money. His father does nothing to provide an income.
His brother takes care of Kartik, because he knows the importance of an education. His brother works hard to help Kartik get an education. For example, he admitted Kartik in two different schools, but because of financial problems he had to leave. That made his brother very unhappy. Then he went to 3-4 other schools to gain admission for Kartik, but after learning how much the fees were, he came back home quite hopeless.
One day he came to Children of Hope School and learned about the free education we offer. That made him very happy. He told the teachers everything about their situation at home. Consequently, they gave admission to Kartik. His brother is very thankful. Kartik is now studying in the Children of Hope School.
