Rahul is a 6-year old Boy. He lives in a slum area. He has two younger brothers, Chandan, who is 8-years old and Akash, who is 10-years old. Rahul's family condition is not good. His father works for daily wages and his mother goes to work as a house maid. His father is not living with them, because of his relationship with other women. That is why only sometimes he sees his children. Only Rahul's mother looks after the three children.

One day his Mother came to the school and told us her husband was not living with them. When he does come to their home, he beats his wife and then goes back. Neither does he provide money for the family's livelihood nor does he pay the house rent. She said while crying, 'How can I look after my three sons?'

The Children of Hope school took the responsibility for her children's education. Sometimes Rahul's mother comes to the school. She never forgets to give thanks to the Children of Hope School.

Zikra is an 9-year old girl. She has a brother named Saif Ali. They are from a Muslim family. The children's father left them and their mother, because he lives with another women. When Zikra and Saif saw this situation, they became very sad.

Their Mother came to Jaipur with her children. That time she was alone in the city. She did not have any support from anyone. The father's home is 600 km. from Jaipur. When their mother met with other muslim families in Jaipur, and told them of her situation, they uderstood and helped her to find a room to rent. When she asked about Zikra and Saif's education, Sahil's father (a parent of a sponsored boy) told her about the Children of Hope School. And, the next day he took her to the school. She told the school staff about her situation. The school staff enrolled both of the children in school.

Now Zikra and Saif are coming to school every day and they are very intelligent students. Their Mother is very thankful to the Children of Hope School.

Akash is a 10-year old Boy. He lives in a slum area. He has two younger brothers, Chandan, who is 8-years old and Rahul, who is 6-years old. Akash's family condition is not good. His father works for daily wages and his mother goes to work as a house maid. His father is not living with them, because of his relationship with other women. Sahil, was a rag picker. He is from a poor Muslim family. He has three brothers and three sisters. His mother is a house wife and his father goes to work for daily wages. Sahil used to sell what he found to junk shops and gradually he became greedy for money. Then he started stealing things from the houses of others. I was very disappointed to learn that Sahil started taking alcohol with his friends, his mother told me. The next morning, I went to his small rented house near our school. I met Sahil, Afsana, one of his sisters, and the other children. There was no bed in their house to sleep in. They just slept on the ground. The last baby girl born was affected with malnutrition and died.

His family became very upset because of Sahil; he didn't listen and feared no one. I talked with his parents and asked why they don't send Sahil and Afsana to school. They replied to me, 'We have no money to send them to school .' Then I told them about our work at Children of Hope School. We assured them that they don't have to pay any money for their children's education. We said, if they will send them to our school, we promise to give them a uniform and a daily meal at school, as we do for every child who comes to our school. Sahil's parents happily agreed to send their two children to school, but Sahil didn't want to attend the school. Every morning he ran from the house. However, we worked hard for Sahil and continued our counseling. We used to catch him and bring him to school. We showed him love and taught him with love and care.

Now Sahil neither steals things nor collects rags to sell. Afsana and Sahil are learning to speak properly, to write and read. After seeing the change in Sahil, his parents said to us, 'We lost hope that Sahil will study, but now we are very happy to see our children doing well.

Honey and Karan are brothers. Karan is 10-years old and Honey is 9-years old. Their mother works house-to-house as a servant to fulfill all of the needs of her family. The husband used to take money from their mother and beat her as well. The high fee of schools became a problem for her children's education One day their mother reached out to Children of Hope School. She shared the great burden she carried and the pain in her heart. She wanted her Karan and Honey to be growing in knowledge and wisdom. She is now very happy that her children are going to school daily, and she does not have to worry every month about the fee. It is a great help for her life and her family

Shaid is a 10-year old boy.   He and his younger brother, Jigar, who is 4-years old, live in the slum area of Jaipur.   Their parents are totally uneducated, and live their lives in darkness.   They are from Muslim background.   They forced Shaid into the work of collecting waste beer bottles for money.   When we came to know all these things, we took the initiative to talk with their parents.   Shaid's mother told to us, 'Our son earn daily $2.00 by selling empty beer bottles in junk shop.   Through that money we get daily meal and pay for some part of his father's medicine (who is very ill).'   After hearing all of their problems, we motivated Shaid's parents to send their sons to Children of Hope School.

We shared the need for education to bring a brighter future into Shaid's life and that of Jigar.   Also, we gave examples of other slum children who were attending our school daily.   It was not easy to counsel his parents, but God helped us.   At last they agreed to send Shaid and Jigar to our school, and we encouraged Shaid's mother to seek work so she can take care of her family's needs and the cost of her husband's medicine.   Now Shaid does not collect empty beer bottles for money.   He comes daily to the Children of Hope School, where he gets a daily afternoon meal and a good education.   After seeing all the changes in Shaid's life, his mother started work and became thankful for the school.

Ravina is an 8 year old girl.   Her mother died when she was very young.   Her father did not take responsibility for Ravina.   She grew-up under her grandmother's care, but soon her grandmother also died and she became like an orphan.   After seeing Ravina's situation, her uncle took her to his house where she worked as a maidservant.   But her uncle's daughter could not see Ravina in this situation.   One day the daughter came to know about Children of Hope School.   She came to our school and talked with us regarding Ravina's situation.   She said, 'I heard about Children of Hope School.   This school is helping many students.   I also have a cousin who needs to go to school, but I am not able to send her to school because I don't have money.'   While sharing her family's situation, she started to cry in front of us.   Then our heart was filled with compassion, and we gave admission to Ravina.   We also provided her with a uniform, her books and writing materials and a daily meal.   Ravina's cousin was very thankful.   Ravina is coming daily to school, and she is now very joyful like the other children.
